When we played at Surrey & South London R&B Club’s opening night at Soper Hall, Caterham on March 23rd was a huge success.  To be honest, we were taken by surprise by the attendance.  The room set-out for a smaller crowd and they had to quickly change the layout on the fly and bring in extra chairs.  It was standing room only by the time we took to the stage.

We were able to  quickly built a rapport with a brilliantly responsive audience.  Our set included numbers ranging across “rhythm and blues” styles.  There was some B.B King, Albert King, Santana, Bill Withers, Robben Ford and more.  By the time  we got around to a rousing performance of Wilson Pickett’s “Land of a Thousand Dances”  folks were up and dancing and joining the chorus.

Our next event will be at Soper Hall, Caterham on Friday, 20th March. We will headline again and will be joined by the brilliant saxophonist Red Brooks.  Due to the massive response to the March event, we are strongly recommending purchasing tickets in advance. The club are offering low cost “early bird” tickets – only £5 if you book by midnight on 8th April.  Beyond that tickets will be £6.50 in advance or £7.50 on the door.  Ticket site; buytickets.at/surreyrhythmandblues
