Our opening night at Soper Hall, Caterham on March 23rd was a huge success.  To be honest, we were taken by surprise by the attendance.  We had the room set-out for a smaller crowd and we had to quickly change the layout on the fly and bring in extra chairs.  It was standing room only by the time the Martin Smith Band took to the stage.

The band quickly built a rapport with a brilliantly responsive audience.  The set included great numbers ranging across “rhythm and blues” styles.  There was some B.B King, Albert King, Santana, Bill Withers, Robben Ford and more.  By the time  the band provided a storming performance of Wilson Pickett’s “Land of a Thousand Dances”  folks were up and dancing and joining the chorus.

Our next event will be at Soper Hall, Caterham on Friday, 20th March. The Martin Smith Band will headline again and will be joined by the brilliant saxophonist Red Brooks.  Due to the massive response to our March event, we are strongly recommending purchasing tickets in advance. We are offering low cost “early bird” tickets – only £5 if you book by midnight on 8th April.
